Een Belgisch bedrijf maakt mooie, en ze ze hebben ook al wat mooie prijzen in de wacht gesleept.

Het ontwerp van een voormailige F16-piloot en skateboarddesigner luidt samen met nieuwe US-regelgeving een nieuwe tijdperk in de luchtvaart in (voor $2500 en 2 weken heb je een vliegbrevet).

Wat met name interessant is, vind ik, is de totale user experience. De cockpit is zo eenvoudig dat ervaren vliegers zeggen: ‘ja, dat is alles wat ik nodig heb’ en onervaren vliegers: ‘is dat alles wat ik nodig heb?’. Ook het kunnen inklappen van de vleugels, zodat hij op een trailer past vind ik geweldig. (let wel, dit zijn natuurlijk ook de marketingteksten :-)

En dan kun je met die projectie ook nog interacteren… Dit is net een andere oplossing dan Microsoft Surface, die een fysiek contactvlak (de tafel) nodig heeft om op te projecteren, maar de Tom Cruise Minority Report oplossing lijkt nu nog een stapje dichterbij… Lekker digitaal interacteren met je omgeving :-)

Ik zie wel nuttige toepassingen, bijvoorbeeld voor politieagenten die mensen aanhouden: even snel een checkje of er nog uitstaande boetes zijn, of dat het een voortvluchtige betreft. Zou ie ook kunnen projecteren op water? Vragen en ideeën te over… leuk!
